Our Background
TutorMD is a team of physicians driven by a shared commitment to mentor and educate the next generation of students pursuing science, medicine, and other health-related fields. Every tutor on our team has graduated from medical school, successfully completed the associated board exams, and excelled in the most demanding undergraduate and medical coursework.
This platform was born out of a realization: after years of intense academic training, we had not only mastered the material — we had developed the mindset, strategies, and clarity to teach it better than anyone else. We realized we had more to give. With our firsthand experience and proven academic success, we’re uniquely equipped to guide students through the same challenges we once faced.

Meet Our Team
Colby Nielsen, MD
Hi! I’m Dr. Colby Nielsen, an orthopedic surgery resident at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. I’ve spent over a decade studying and applying the sciences—from earning my degree in Biology at BYU to completing medical school and now treating patients in surgery.
I’ve worked as a teaching assistant and tutor for 5+ years for high school students, undergrads and medical students, and I love helping students truly understand how science works—not just memorize it. Whether you’re trying to ace your next test, boost your GPA, or prepare for a future in healthcare, I can help you get there.
